The Unified Field Theory is considered to be the Holy Grail of nuclear physics, relativity, and quantum theory. There are a number of such long-sought ideals in science, among them: the cure for cancer, artificial intelligence, artificial life, and the Unified Field Theory.

Albert Einstein and Heisenberg were searching for the Unified Field Theory but could not ultimately discover it. Einstein died in 1955. Now it is the year 1995, and the solution has not been found yet.

I was born in 1954, still in the wake of the Second World War. All my life I felt spiritually connected to or strongly interested in and admired Albert Einstein, and I also wondered why, being such a genius, he had not finally discovered his goal. At the same time, I felt very repentful about the misuse of nuclear energy by the USA at the end of the Second World War, and I felt committed to somehow restore or indemnify this. As I had joined the Unification Church in 1975 at the age of 21, and now, in the year of 1995, 40 years after the death of Albert Einstein, 50 years after the end of World War II, and after 20 years in the Unification Church, I feel the time has come to indemnify the tragedy of Hiroshima and also to vindicate the good intention of Albert Einstein and the early physicists of the 20th century.

1995, five years prior to the end of the century, is symmetric and parallel to the year 1905, five years after the beginning of this most wonderful and most terrible century. Russia is in many ways in a similar situation in 1995 as it was in 1905. In 1905 Einstein published the Special Theory of Relativity.

The scientific environment of 1995 is increasingly being dominated by the ICUS Conferences for the Unity of the Sciences and Absolute Values in the Sciences, founded by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, True Parents of mankind. As the King and Queen of the universe have ascended to their throne, it is also the time for the revelation of the complete truth not only in religious but also in scientific fields. Such a forum has been created for the renewal and revolution of all the sciences centering upon the bright light that is rising in the sky. Why is it that the Unified Field Theory has eluded scientists and scholars for so long? It is because they were existing and working in the fallen realm, the providential and spiritual "growth stage" of society and history, and the adolescent phase of modern civilization. Only when the parental era has begun, can the completion stage ideology, religion, and science emerge.

Science has proceeded, following its divorce from religion or spirituality in the 1400s, independently of theology and religion. At the time of Socrates, revelation was very much a part of philosophy and science. They proceeded hand in hand in a healthy balance. Now science has become grossly separated from human values. Therefore, it is necessary for science to return to revelation and inspiration from God. Scientists must proceed by prayer and consultation with the wisest saints and sages. Furthermore, the dimension of "heart" or emotion, essential to the humanities, must be included in the omnipotent embrace of scientific research.

In beginning my research on the Unified Field Theory, I do so exactly by conversation with God, seeing what the internal, invisible authority of conscience has to say about the age-old questions of science. This is the necessary foundation for the Unified Field Theory. Upon this foundation, much hard research and mathematical theorization has to be embarked. I confess the painful lack of personal skill in math and nuclear physics; at the same time I possess a life-long preoccupation with such questions as addressed by these fields. I do so in addition from the point of view of both a humanist and a religious zealot.

Unification holds the answer to this world's problems; and specifically in the field of science, and the long-sought questions of science, unification holds the golden key. The answers to a great extent are already there, just as the Continental Drift Theory stood on the foundation of a great deal of hard work and detailed investigation of geology and physics. Unification is the consummation or central direction of all different fields at this providential and historical time.

I am dedicating this work to the name, spirit and motivation of Albert Einstein. I want him to be credited, fulfilled, liberated and vindicated through this work, which I see as the consummation of what he was searching for. I know many others were searching for it too, but I think he and his faithful attitude to God, his reverence for the universe, and his sincere conscientious commitment to world peace are exemplary.

There are several possible approaches to the organization of the themes, which I considered:

An encyclopedic, universal approach. The themes would be: Science, Religion, and Art. Then they would be further subdivided. UFT can cover all those systematically.

A special thematic approach. Then these would be particular outstanding themes or features of emphasis which make the Unified Field Theory as I am presenting it particularly unique. It would be most interesting in presenting the UFT to the general public as well as UC members. A creationist or cosmological approach, basically similar to the first three chapters of Genesis, with very good reason, because it starts with God, then the order of creation, then human responsibility, then the reality of the fallen world, the course of restoration, and finally the ideal world.

This Unified Field Theory is not intended to be parochial, provincial, or personal. Only because I approached it in prayer, asking specific questions according to my own interest and knowledge, therefore, God revealed it to me with these themes of emphasis. There are big areas I have left out which are very important also in UFT, and which another person would undoubtedly develop -- medicine, health, the cures for cancers, art, history, culture, etc. Just because I am interested in cosmology, linguistics, etc., those subjects have become central in my presentation.

However, ultimately, I want to stress that the Unified Field Theory is extremely universal, to the degree of embracing everything, in a sense that Divine Principle suggests that it could do, but in fact does not set out to do -- DP's mission is mainly to testify to True Parents and set people on the providential path. Unification Thought is universal in the same sense as UFT, however, there are certain areas that I covered that UT doesn't cover so much, and what is more important, I think UFT adds life and spontaneity, which is essential throughout the creation and mankind -- UT is rather a rigid or structural philosophical system; of course, UT is absolutely true, without any question....

world, including spiritual time and space, with God as the vertical axis of
