October 22, 2012

Dear Members and Blessed Families,

I am pleased to announce two individuals to the senior HSA-UWC USA management team: Dr. Anthony J. Guerra as Executive Assistant to the President and Rev. James B. Edgerly as Senior Advisor.

Dr. Guerra will work directly with me, providing advice on all matters related to my responsibilities as President of HSA-UWC in the United States. In addition, he will be the contact point representing my office in day-to-day communications with our staff and general membership. Rev. Edgerly will work closely with me, Dr. Guerra and the leadership of HSA-UWC in guiding the overall direction and priorities of our church activities and business investments.

He graduated from Unification Theological Seminary (1978) and went on to study at Harvard University where he received both a Master of Divinity and Doctorate in New Testament Studies (1986). Tony is the author of three books and numerous articles in scholarly journals.

Dr. Guerra served as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University from 1984 to 1986, and was a professor at Bard College (New York) from 1986 to 1993 where he became a member of the tenured faculty. From 1990, he initiated and directed the process that ultimately led to UC investment in the University of Bridgeport (UB). Dr Guerra served as Dean and Vice Provost of UB from 1993 to 2000.

Edgerly participated in the restructuring of hundreds of industrial companies in Central Europe.

In 2003, Rev. Edgerly acquired and reorganized the assets of Crowe Rope Industries out of bankruptcy and subsequently founded Orion Ropeworks (Winslow, ME). Rev. Edgerly served as the CEO of Orion until that company was acquired by Canada Cordage (2005).

Rev. Edgerly served as Assistant Regional Director for HSA Northern New England under to Rev. Kil Hwan Kim from 2004 to 2006 and Massachusetts State Pastor from 2006 to 2012.
