True Mother's Address at the 20th Anniversary of the Founding of Women's Federation for World Peace

Rev. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon address an audience of more than 3,500 during the Anniversary of the Founding of the Women's Federation for World Peace on March 4th, 2012.

True Mother gave the following address to a crowd of more than 3,500 people at the Daejeon Convention Center in Daejeon, Korea on March 4, 2012. The event was titled, "Convention to Fulfill, Open the Gate and Inherit the Era of Victory, Liberation and Completion of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind."

My beloved Women’s Federation for World Peace members, and most honorable women peace leaders!

오늘 세계평화여성연합 창립 20주년을 기념하여 개최하는 ‘천지인 참부모 승리해방완성시대개문 계승성취대회’에 이처럼 대 성황을 이루어 주심에 대해 먼저 하나님과 문총재님께 심심한 감사를 올리고, 더불어 여러분께도 감사의 마음을 전합니다.
First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to God and Rev. Moon for the great success of this ‘Convention to Open, Inherit and Fulfill the Era of the Victory, Liberation and Completion of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind’, held today in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Women’s Federation for World Peace. At the same time, I would also like to convey my grateful heart to all of you.

세계평화여성연합은 1992년 4월, 서울 잠실 올림픽 주경기장에서, 세계 70여개국 여성대표와 15만여명의 한국 여성 지도자들이 운집한 가운데,‘세계여성시대도래’를 선포하고 여성평화운동의 중추기관으로, 천의(天意)를 따라 문선명 총재와 본인이 창립하였습니다.
The ‘Women’s Federation for World Peace’ (WFWP) was founded in April of 1992 as a central organization of the women’s peace movement, in accordance with the will of Heaven, by Rev. Sun Myung Moon and myself at the Olympic Stadium in Jamshil, Seoul, together with the declaration of the ‘advent of the global era of women,’ attended by women representatives from 70-some nations in the world and 150,000 Korean women leaders.

본 연합은 결코 세상에 흔한 또 하나의 여성단체로서 출발한 것이 아닙니다. 그것은 여권신장, 남녀평등, 여성노동운동 등, 주로 남성을 상대로 한 외향적이요 정치적인 투쟁적인 세속적 여권회복운동이 아니라 하나님의 창조이상세계 실현이라는 섭리사적 의의를 지니고 있습니다.
WFWP did not start off as an ordinary sort of women’s organization. It is not an extroverted, political or militant movement founded to recover women’s rights, or a movement that mainly speaks to men about feminism, gender equality or women’s labor rights. Rather, it has the providential significance of realizing the world of God’s ideal of creation.

이러한 창립의 섭리사적 의의를 지니고 출발한 세계평화여성연합은, 지난 20년 동안 지구촌 곳곳에서 참된 모성애를 바탕으로 한, 참사랑의 가정 확립운동과 여성지위 향상을 위한 다양한 지원 및 교육 프로그램을 운영하면서 괄목할만한 발전과 성장을 이루었습니다.
WFWP, which was founded with such providential significance, has achieved remarkable growth and development over the course of the past twenty years through carrying out various service projects and educational programs based on true maternal love in all parts of the world, in order to establish families of true love and to elevate the status of women.

본인은 여성연합 창설 초기부터 세계 각 대륙과 나라들의 순회강연을 통해 여성연합의 세계적인 조직과 활동 기반을 닦아왔고, 일찍이 세계 160개국에 파송된 1600명의 일본 여성연합 자원봉사회원을 비롯한 전 세계 회원들을 총 동원 했습니다. 우리는 문총재님께서 여성연합 창설 메시지의 핵심으로 주신 말씀, 즉 “역사적인 여성대표로서 승리한 세계적 여성대표 참어머니를 모시고 참된 어머니의 상, 참된 아내의 상을 정립하여 참사랑 운동으로 이상적인 가정을 결실시켜야 하고 세계평화 구현을 위해 정치, 경제, 문화, 그리고 사회 각 분야에서 ‘위하여 사는’ 참사랑의 모범적인 실천운동을 전 세계적으로 전개해야 되겠습니다”라고 하신 말씀에 따라 세계 곳곳에서 인종과 종교, 언어와 국경의 장벽을 넘어 여성고유의 모성애를 가지고 다양한 봉사활동과 교육 프로그램 및 국제적인 갈등해소와 화해운동을 전개해 왔던 것입니다.
Ever since the founding of WFWP, I have undertaken speaking tours throughout the world’s nations and continents in order to build a global organization and activity base. Early on, I sent out 1,600 Japanese WFWP volunteers to 160 nations in order to mobilize WFWP members in each nation. Throughout the years, WFWP has carried out various service projects, educational programs and campaigns to bring about resolution and reconciliation to international conflicts. All of these efforts were accomplished by transcending the barriers of race, religion, language and nationality through maternal love, which is inherent in women, and in accordance with the core of my husband’s message at the founding rally of WFWP: “True Mother has triumphed as a representative of all the women in history and all the women in the world. Attending True Mother, model movements to practice true love should unfold throughout the world in every field of life, including politics, economy, culture and society, in order to bring about world peace. Moreover, ideal families must be realized through a movement of true love that establishes the image of a true mother and the image of a true wife.”

또한 1993년 9월, 본인의 뉴욕 유엔본부 특별초청강연을 계기로, 여성연합은 3년에 걸친 노력 끝에 'UN 경제사회이사회 NGO'의 최고 지위인‘제1영역 NGO자문기관’의 지위를 획득하게 되었습니다. 그 후 매 4년마다 활동실적의 엄정한 평가로 그 지위를 계속 재승인 받는 쾌거를 이루게 되었음을 기쁘게 생각합니다. 3천 4백여개의 UN 산하 NGO 중 이와 같은 최고의 NGO는 단 140개 밖에 되지 않기 때문에 더욱 그 가치를 인정받고 있다고 생각합니다.
In addition, building on the momentum of the special address I gave at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in September 1993, WFWP exerted itself for three years and as a result obtained the status of an NGO in general consultative status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, which is the highest status afforded to an NGO by the UN. I am joyful that, since then, our status has been reapproved consistently at the quadrennial re-evaluations, which entail strict assessment of activities and achievements. Only 140 of the more than 3,400 NGOs at the UN are given general consultative status. The fact that WFWP’s status as such has been consistently reaffirmed signifies that the UN is recognizing WFWP’s value.

특히 새 천년을 맞이하면서 유엔에서 제정한 '새천년 발달목표(MDGs)'를 실현하기 위하여 전 세계적으로 전개한 다양한 현장 프로젝트들이 이제는 각 국가와 지역 사회에 뿌리를 내리고 열매를 거두면서 해당 국가의 정부로 부터도 인정과 지원을 받게 되어 큰 보람을 느끼고 있습니다.
WFWP has carried out various local projects in many parts of the world in order to realize the ‘Millennium Development Goals’ instituted by the UN at the beginning of this new millennium. Now WFWP has taken root in many nations and communities and has begun to bear fruit. It has been greatly rewarding for me to see WFWP receive recognition and support from the governments of such nations.

1997년부터 본인의 지도하에 매년 한해도 거르지 않고 개최하고 있는 '중동여성지도자평화회의'는 중동 20여개국 여성 지도자들의 큰 관심과 참여 속에 점차 구체적인 현장 활동으로 확대 발전되면서 중동여성지도자들이 종교의 갈등을 넘어 인권과 평화를 위한 활동의 구심점이 되어가고 있어서 참으로 큰 성과라고 하겠습니다.
One of the great achievements of WFWP is the Middle East Women Leaders’ Peace Conference, which WFWP has hosted annually since 1997. The conference has attracted much interest and participation from women leaders of more than twenty nations in the Middle East, and has inspired a steady development of concrete field activities. It is a truly remarkable achievement that women leaders of the Middle East are now becoming pivotal leaders for human rights and peace activities, going beyond religious conflicts.

그리고 2000년부터 매년 각 대륙을 순회하며 개최되고 있는 '세계여성지도자워크숍'은 지구촌 곳곳에서의 현장 활동 경험과 지혜를 나누고 미래의 비전을 공유하며 협력하는 아름다운 모임으로 자리매김하게 되었습니다. 거기에 한 단계 더 발전하여 세계본부인 한국을 비롯하여 일본, 미국, 유엔 사무국, 아시아, 유럽, 오세아니아, 카나다, 중남미, 아프리카, 동북아 등, 세계 각 대륙과 나라별로 각각 현장에서 요구되는 다양한 맞춤형 프로젝트를 개발, 운영하고 있는 것을 볼 때, 매우 자랑스럽고 고마운 생각이 듭니다.
In addition, we have hosted the ‘World Women Leaders’ Workshop’ in different continents each year from the year 2000, which has taken root as a beautiful meeting place for the participants to share their wisdom, their vision for the future, and their on-scene experiences in all corners of the global village. It is also an opportunity for participants to cooperate with one another. Taking it a step further, the different continents and countries including Korea, which is the WFWP International Headquarters, Japan, USA, the UN Secretariat, Asia, Europe, Oceania, Canada, Central and South America, Africa, and Northeast Asia are all developing and carrying out various projects adapted to the needs of their locality. I cannot but feel proud of and grateful to all of them.

그 외에도 우리는 지구촌 곳곳의 자연재해, 기아문제 해결을 위하여 적극적으로 지원 활동을 전개하고 있습니다. 특히, 북한의 어린이와 여성을 돕는 일에 ‘우리가 가진 것의 작은 것부터 나누자’는 구호아래『지구가족사랑1%운동』을 전개하여 많은 실적을 거두었습니다. 그리고 지역사회에 여성연합의 영역을 확대하고 연대를 위한 지역특성화 사업 등, 효과적인 여러 사업을 통해 여성의 힘이 사회를 바꾸며 평화세계 건설에 놀라운 성과를 내고 있음을 실감하고 있습니다.
Furthermore, we are also actively conducting relief aid to resolve the problems of natural calamities and poverty in various parts of the global village. In particular, under the slogan, ‘Let us share a little of what we have’, we are carrying out the 『1% Love Share Project』 to help the children and women in North Korea, and we have achieved great results. Moreover, through several effective enterprises including local specialized businesses for the solidarity and expansion of the influence of WFWP in local societies, we are realizing only too keenly that the power of women is changing societies and achieving amazing results in the construction of a peaceful world.

무엇보다도 여성지도자들에게 영성을 회복하고 삶의 올바른 방향을 제시하는 『지도자 초청 평화원리세미나』는 벌써 30차에 이르면서 많은 지도자들로 하여금 깊은 감동으로 삶의 새로운 전환기를 맞게 하고 있습니다.
More than anything else, the 『Leaders Invitational Peace Divine Principle Seminar』, which helps women leaders recover their divinity and presents them with the right life direction, has been held more than 30 times now, and it has deeply moved many leaders and brought them to a new turning point in their lives.

이처럼 창립에서부터 오늘날 ‘UN NGO’의 최고 지위인 ‘제1영역자문기관’지위에 이르기까지 초심을 잃지 않고 한결같은 마음으로 묵묵히 여성평화의 길을 개척해 주신 회원 여러분께, 그리고 격려와 동참을 아끼지 않으셨던 여성지도자 여러분께도 무한한 감사와 사랑의 박수를 보냅니다.
As can be seen, from the founding of WFWP to reaching the highest status as an NGO in consultative status under the UN, our members have never lost heart and have pioneered the path of women’s peace in silence with an unchanging heart. Therefore, I would like to give a big round of applause to express my infinite gratitude and love for them, and also for the women leaders who have never failed to give us their encouragement and participation.

오늘 인류가 가야할 길은 어디에 있습니까? 지금도 세계 도처에서는 전쟁과 질병, 기아, 그리고 자연재해로 인해 무고한 인명이 매년 수천만 명씩 희생되어 가고 있습니다. 종교, 정치, 교육, 문화, 사상 등 어느 분야를 둘러보아도 개인은 물론, 집단으로까지 극도의 이기주의와 아집의 늪에 빠져 철저하게 문을 닫아 걸고 있습니다. 소통이 없는 불통의 세계로 전락해버린 것입니다.
What is the path that humankind should take today? Even now tens of millions of innocent lives are being lost each year to war, disease, starvation and natural disasters that arise in all parts of the world. In every field you observe, whether religion, politics, education, culture or ideology, from the individual to the collective level people are deeply mired in the swamp of self-centered egoism, raising walls around themselves. We now live in a world brought to ruin, where genuine communication has broken down.

결국 인류의 제반문제는 참부모 되는 본인 부부가 하늘로부터 받아 평생 동안 주창하고 교육해온 『하나님 아래 인류 한 가족』사상, 즉 참사랑의 가르침에 의해 해결할 수밖에 없습니다. 이 사상만이 인류에게 평화와 행복의 길을 찾아 줄 수 있는 유일한 길이기 때문입니다.
Ultimately, the problems afflicting humanity can only be resolved through the worldview of 『One Family under God』. In other words, this worldview is the ideology based on true love which my husband and I, the True Parents, have learned from Heaven and have championed and taught throughout our lives. This is because it is the only way for humankind to find the path toward peace and happiness.

여러분!
오늘 우리가 살고 있는 이 시대는 역사를 바꾸고 영계와 지상계를 하나로 만들어 하나님께서 태초부터 소원하셨던 이상천국을 이 지상에 창건해야 하는 역사적인 대 천주적 혁명기입니다. 더 이상 연기하거나 연장할 시간이 없습니다. 하늘은 벌써 2013년 1월 13일을 ‘기원절’로 선포해 놓았습니다. 실체적 천일국의 시발이요, 기원이 되는 날이 바로 그날인 것입니다. 이제 만 일년도 채 남지 않았습니다.
Ladies and gentlemen!
We are now living in a historic time for a great cosmic revolution to change history, to unite the spiritual and physical worlds and to create the ideal kingdom of heaven that God has longed for since the beginning of time. We can no longer postpone or prolong it. Heaven has already proclaimed that January 13th, 2013 will be ‘Foundation Day’. That day will mark the beginning and genesis of the substantial Cheon Il Guk. That day is now less than a year away.

따라서 인류는 이제 하늘의 명 앞에 겸허한 자세로 순종해야 할 때입니다. 평화의 왕 되신 하나님의 실체로서, 지상계에서 섭리를 경륜하고 계시는 참부모님의 인도함을 따라, 남은 일년간을 전력투구, 사생결단해야 할 숙명적인 시간이 오늘 우리 앞에 다가왔다는 것입니다.
Therefore, it is time for all people to be humbly obedient to Heaven’s decree. The fateful moment lies before us on this day, when we need to devote ourselves completely with a life or death commitment for the remaining year under the guidance of True Parents, who are carrying out the Providence on earth as the substantial representatives of God, the King of Peace.

여러분!
억겁의 시간과 정성을 쏟아 부어 당신의 자식으로 창조해 놓은 인간이 타락함으로 말미암아 사탄의 혈통을 받고 어둠속으로 숨어버린 그 순간부터 하나님께서 당하신 그 고통이 얼마나 큰지 아십니까? 뼈가 울고 살결이 떨리는 처절한 고통 속에서 수천 수 만년을 참고 기다려 오신 여러분의 아버지가 얼마나 길고 험난한 탕감의 터널을 거쳐 오셨는지 생각이나 해 보았습니까? 이런 불쌍한 아버지를 위해 어느 한 순간이라도 눈물을 흘려 본 적이 있느냐는 말입니다.
Ladies and gentlemen!
Do you have any idea how much pain God suffered the moment our first ancestors, whom He created investing eons and unreserved devotion as His children, fell and inherited Satan’s lineage and disappeared into darkness? Have you ever even thought about the long, dark tunnel of indemnity our Heavenly Father has had to undergo as He waited and endured tens of thousands of years of excruciating heartache so great that His bones shed tears and His flesh quivered? Have you ever shed even one teardrop for our pitiful Heavenly Father?

여러분!
하나님은 수천 년 간 조용히 한민족을 기르며 준비시켜 나왔습니다. 2천년 전 당신의 독생자 예수 그리스도를 이 땅에 보내시고 그를 통해 인류를 구원하려 하셨던 역사를 여러분도 잘 아실 것입니다.
Ladies and gentlemen, in silence God has raised and prepared the Korean people over a period of thousands of years. You well know that God sent His true son, Jesus Christ, to earth two thousand years ago to save humankind.

그러나 결과는 너무나 비참하게 끝나고 말았습니다. 예수님을 메시아로 받아들여 절대신앙, 절대사랑, 절대복종의 길을 갔어야 했던 유대교 지도자들과 이스라엘 민족이 오히려 그를 십자가의 길로 내어 몰고 말았지 않습니까? 그러나 “다 이루었다!”는 영적구원의 말 한마디를 조용히 남기고 홀연히 떠나버린 예수님의 재림은 슬프게도 이천년간의 준비를 거쳐 드디어 멀고 먼 이 한반도에서 열매를 맺게 된 것입니다.
The result, however, was truly a wretched one. The people of Israel, who were supposed to receive Jesus as the Messiah and follow him with absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience, instead drove him to die on the cross, didn’t they? In the end, Jesus left behind the words, “It is finished”, referring only to spiritual salvation, and left this world. Sadly, it was after two thousand years of preparation that his Second Coming finally took place on the Korean Peninsula.

한민족은 예로부터 하나님을 조상 중의 최고 최상의 조상으로 숭앙하며 살아온 천손민족입니다. 오직 한분이신 만인의 조상 그분을 “한 분님”즉, “하나님”이라 불러 주인(밤과 낮의 창조주)으로 모셔왔고, 따라서 모든 수의 근원도 하나, 둘로부터 시작했던 것입니다. 이런 하나님을 원초조상으로 모셔온 민족이기에, 한민족의 정신과 전통 속에는 공생, 공영, 공의의 혼을 넘은 영인체로 살아 존속해온 것입니다.
From the past, the Korean people have worshiped God as the highest and primal ancestor of their forefathers. They called that single being and progenitor of all people the “One”, that is, God and served Him as the Lord (Creator of night and day), and this is why all numbers begin from one and two. Because the Korean people have served God as their original ancestor, mutual dependence, mutual prosperity and universally shared values are alive in their spirit and tradition, and what is more, in their spiritual selves, and thus they have been continued to this day.

오천년이 넘는 역사를 지켜오면서도 남의 나라와 민족을 침략하거나 약탈하지 않은 홍익인간의 맥이 뛰고 있는 선민입니다. 더 나아가 한국의 역사 속에는 인간 삶의 근본 덕목이 되는 효와 충과 열의 혼이 살아 숨 쉬고 있습니다.
They have maintained themselves over five thousand years of history, yet not once have they invaded or plundered another nation or people. The spirit of benefiting all humankind still flows in the veins of the Korean people. Furthermore, the spirit of filial piety, fidelity, and loyalty, which are the fundamental virtues of human life, are still alive and breathing in Korean history.

꽃같은 처녀의 나이에 자신의 몸을 바다에 던져 늙은 아버지의 눈을 뜨게 해주었던 효녀 심청의 참된 효성이야 말로 부모를 섬기고 모시는 한국인들의 효의 기준입니다. 부군과의 약속을 하늘처럼 받들고 생명을 내어놓는 자리까지 나아갔던 춘향의 애절한 사랑과 절개는 모든 한국 여성들의 삶의 푯대가 되어 있습니다. 자신을 버린 왕과 지도자들 앞에서도 백의종군으로 목숨을 바쳐 국가와 민족을 구한 이순신 장군의 백절불굴의 충성이야 말로 한민족의 자랑이요 기개입니다.
The true filial piety shown by Shimcheong, who threw herself into the sea when she was still a blossoming girl so her blind father could see, is the standard of filial piety for the Korean people who serve and attend their parents. The profound love and fidelity displayed by Choonhyang, who came to the verge of death while keeping the promise she had made to her husband, is the signpost for the lives of all Korean women. The unbreakable loyalty exhibited by Admiral Yi Soon-shin, who gave his life to save his nation and people despite being forsaken by his king and other leaders, is indeed the pride and noble spirit of the Korean people.

이런 숭고한 전통들은 우연히 역사상에 나타난 한낱 사건들이 아닙니다. 하늘이 이 민족을 준비하고 그 전통위에 메시아를 세우시기 위한 기대섭리였던 것입니다.
These noble Korean values and traditions are not just matters of historical chance. God prepared the Korean people and laid down the foundation for the Providence to establish the Messiah based on those traditions.

그리하여 마침내 이 한반도의 정기를 타고 인류의 참부모요, 만왕의 왕께서 하늘의 인침을 받고 현현하시게 된 것입니다.
Thus, riding on the energy of the Korean Peninsula, the True Parents of humankind and the King of Kings could finally be manifested after receiving the Seal of Heaven.

Beloved WFWP members and my fellow women leaders!

이제 인류의 갈 길은 확실해졌습니다. 하늘이 참보모님을 통해 밝혀주신 D-Day를 앞에 놓고 주저할 것이 무엇이 있겠습니까? 이제 일 년밖에 남지 않았습니다. 여러분의 바쁜 장도에는 하늘의 축복이 함께하실 것입니다.
The path that humanity should now take is clear. What would give you cause to hesitate in the face of the D-day that Heaven has revealed through True Parents? Only a year remains now. Heaven’s blessings will be with you on your ambitious and busy course.

인류역사의 흐름을 섭리사적 눈으로 살펴보면 시대의 변천은 크게 3단계로 대별됩니다.

If you view the flow of history from the viewpoint of Providential history, you can see that the changes of the times can be broadly classified into three stages.

첫째는 ‘물정시대’, 즉 물본주의적 물질 우선 시대입니다.
그리고 두 번째는 ‘인정시대’, 즉 인간의 지식과 하늘의 공평한 감정을 앞세워 세계를 지배해 왔던 인간중심주의 시대입니다.
First is the ‘era of worldly matters’, that is, a time when materialism took precedence.
Next came the ‘era of human affairs’, a humanistic era when peoples’ knowledge and Heaven’s impartial emotions took precedence in dominating the world.

그러나 이런 시대는 과도기적 시대입니다. 인간이 타락성을 벗어던지고 본연의 모습을 찾아, 하나님을 아버지로 모시고 통일된 한 가족을 이루어 사는 시대로 진입하는데 거쳐야 할 과정적인 시대라는 것입니다.
However, these eras were transitional. They were eras we needed to undergo in the process of entering the era in which people can rid themselves of their fallen nature, return to their original selves and live as one united family under God as their Father.

결혼축복을 통해 내외 양면으로 성별된 터 위에 절대적인 기준을 세우고, ‘위하는 삶의 길’을 가야할 마지막 단계의 시대가 ‘천정시대’입니다. 즉, 한 분 하나님의 심정에 회귀되는 천일국의 시대를 열어가고 있는 때가 오늘 우리가 살고 있는 바로 이 시대라는 것을 명심, 또 명심하시기 바랍니다.
The era of the final stage is the ‘era of heavenly affairs’, in which human beings should follow ‘the path of living for the sake of others’ by establishing an absolute standard based on their internal and external purification through the Marriage Blessing Ceremony. In other words, this is the time of opening up the era of Cheon Il Guk, a time in which we can return to the heart of the one true God, and I hope you will engrave this on your heart

실체적 천일국 시대가 펼쳐지면 이 땅위에 ‘영연세 협회’가 중심 축의 자리에 서서 비로소 만유를 치리하게 될 것입니다. 영계와 육계를 연결하여 실체적인 통일을 완성하고 천리와 천도로 섭리를 경륜하게 된다는 뜻입니다.
Once the era of the substantial Cheon Il Guk begins, the ‘Union of the Spiritual and Physical Worlds’ will be established in the central axial position, and it will govern all created things. To put it another way, the spiritual and physical worlds will be connected and substantially united as one, and the Providence will be carried out according to the heavenly law and the heavenly way.

이 땅에서 세속적인 차원의 선거를 더 이상 볼 수 없게 될 것이며, 교체교차축복결혼을 통해 인류는 한 가족이 되어 태평성대를 누리면서 평화와 행복의 참사랑을 즐기게 될 것입니다.
그런 날이 이제 우리 눈앞에 다가오고 있다는 것입니다.
Then, elections conducted in a purely secular fashion will disappear from the face of the earth. All people will become one family through cross-cultural and inter-racial marriages, and we will live in tranquility and prosperity and enjoy true love of peace and happiness.
This day is now right before our eyes.

이제 여러분은 참부모님의 가르침을 뼈에 아로새겨 실천하는 삶을 살아야 할 것입니다. 선택의 여지가 없습니다. 천지인 참부모님의 승리해방 완성시대 개문의 축복을 상속받아 계승하고 성취하는 일만이 남았습니다.
You need to all engrave True Parents’ teachings onto your bones and practice them in your lives. We have no choice. All that is left for us to do is to inherit, succeed and accomplish the blessing of the opening of the gates to the era of the victorious liberation and perfection of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind.

지금부터 준비하지 않으면 분명히 낙오자가 될 것이기 때문입니다. 칠천 미터가 넘는 히말라야 산맥을 넘나들며 월동을 하는 재두루미의 용기와 기개를 우리도 배워야 할 것입니다.
If we do not prepare now, we will surely be left behind. We should learn from the courage and fortitude of the white-necked cranes that fly across the Himalayas, which are more than seven thousand meters high, in preparation for winter.

회원 여러분들은 우주의 공법과 원리에 입각해서, 가정을 천도에 맞게 온전히 하고 사회와 나라를 바로 세우는 일에 특별한 사명감을 갖고 나아가야 한다고 봅니다.
I believe that, based on the public laws and principles of the universe, our WFWP members should engage themselves in the task of forming sound families in accordance with the Heavenly way and rightly establishing their societies and nations with a special sense of mission.

그러나 무엇보다 우선해야 할 운동이 올바른 가치관 교육과 동반하는 보다 위하는 참사랑의 참가정 운동인 것을 다시 한 번 강조합니다.
However, I would like to emphasize once again that the movement we should prioritize before anything else is the true family movement of true love of living for the sake of others, carried out in conjunction with the right values education.

여성들은 또한 통일운동의 기수가 되어야 합니다. 본 연합의 고유 목적사업에도 남북통일을 위한 여러 가지 활동을 명시해 두었습니다. 여성이 남북통일 및 세계평화에도 이념교육과 참사랑 실천으로 선도적 역할을 해야 하는 것입니다.
Women should also become the standard-bearers of the peace movement. Even in the essential businesses of this Federation, various activities for the unification of South and North Korea are stated clearly. Women should play a leading role in bringing about the unification of South and North Korea and world peace through education and the practice of true love.

전쟁과 갈등은 이기적인 동기에서 영토나 재산 등 남의 것을 빼앗고자 할 때 벌어지는 것입니다. 반면 평화는 남을 위해 자신을 투입할 때, 즉 참사랑을 베풀 때 오는 것입니다.
Wars and conflicts arise from selfish motives of desiring to take others’ land, possessions or the like by force. On the other hand, peace arises from investing oneself for others, that is, giving true love.

‘위하는 삶의 길’을 가야할 마지막 단계의 ‘천정시대’에 냉전의 종식과 더불어 평화와 사회정의에 대한 새로운 희망이 급속도로 전 지구성에 번져가고 있습니다.
In the final stage, the ‘era of heavenly affairs,’ in which we should follow ‘the path of living for the sake of others’, the Cold War has ended, and new hopes for peace and social justice are spreading out across the entire globe at an amazing rate.

새로운 세계적 현실을 외면하거나 직시하지 못하는 지도자들은 해일처럼 밀려오는 변화에 씻겨가고 말 것입니다. 이제 우리는 새로운 기회와 가치관을 맞이하는데 과감히 나서야 할 때라고 믿습니다.
Those leaders who turn their faces away from the new realities of the world, or who fail to see them, will be swept away by the changes coming upon us like a tidal wave. I believe the time has now come for us to step forward boldly and receive new opportunities and values.

Beloved WFWP members and my fellow women leaders!

여성은 남성의 보조자나 보호의 대상이 아니라 하나님의 또 다른 일성을 대표한 자리에서 오히려 남성을 온전하고 더 남성답게 만들어 주는 독립된 인격자입니다.
Women are not there to help or to be protected by men; rather, they are independent individuals who, as the representative of the other part of God’s nature, are meant to make men more complete and manly.

참사랑 이상을 중심하고 여성은 남성의 존귀한 사랑의 대상자입니다. 가치적으로 보아 남녀는 절대 평등한 존재입니다.
Centered on the ideal of true love, women are the precious objects of men’s love. In terms of value, men and women are absolutely equal.

이렇게 하나님의 참사랑 이상 아래 본연의 참사랑으로 하나된 남성 여성은 동위, 동참권 뿐만 아니라 서로의 것을 자기 것으로 공유함으로써 참사랑을 중심삼고 가치적으로 완전히 평등한 존재가 되게끔 창조되었습니다.
그러므로 남성과 여성은 서로 상대의 특성과 기질과 역할을 흉내내거나 그것을 탐해서 뺏을 필요가 있는 대립, 적대관계가 아닙니다. 참사랑으로 자기 것을 상대에게 베풀고 상대편을 더욱 완성시켜 주면서 더 큰 하나가 됨으로써 서로를 공유하는 관계입니다.
그리하여 21세기는 여성들이 남성들과 더불어 평화세계 창건을 위한 견인차의 한쪽 바퀴를 담당할 세계사의 주역이 되어야 합니다. 힘과 기술의 세기를 넘어 사랑과 평화문화의 세기를 창건해 나가는 핵심 축이 되는 여성의 역할은 더욱 중요해졌습니다.
Thus, men and women, who are united as one through the original true love under God’s Ideal of true love, have been created to become completely equal beings in terms of value, centered on true love, by sharing not only the same rank and the right of participation but also their possessions with one another.
Therefore, men and women do not need to confront or contend with each other, for they don’t need to imitate the characteristics, dispositions or roles of the other or to covet them and take them by force. Instead, by giving what they have to the other with true love and completing the other, they can become united as a bigger whole and share one another.
In the 21st century, women should play a major role in world history by serving as one of the wheels of the tractor pulling forward the construction of a peaceful world together with the men. Going beyond the century of power and technology, women will be the central axis in building the century of love and the peace culture, and their role will be more important than ever before.

비록 오늘의 세계가 혼란과 혼돈을 거듭하고 있다고 해도 하나님의 참사랑의 비젼 아래 일체된 본 연합의 여성평화운동은, 이제 지난 20년의 활동 실적을 발판삼아 한 단계 더 높은 차원으로 비상해야 하겠습니다. 세계적 여성평화운동의 확산을 위해 세계적 여성지도자들과 네트워킹을 강화하고 기어이 이 세상을 하나님의 창조이상이 실현되는 아름다운 평화세계로 정화시킬 수 있다는 확신으로 우리 모두 매진하여야겠습니다.
Even though the world of today is filled with confusion and chaos, the women’s peace movement of this organization, united as one under God’s vision of true love, should soar up to a whole new level based on our achievements of the past twenty years. We should strengthen our network with global women leaders for the expansion of the worldwide women’s peace movement and dedicate ourselves to the utmost with the conviction that we can purify this world into a beautiful world of peace wherein God’s Ideal of Creation can be realized.

그렇게 한다면 하나님의 절대권과 영계의 크신 가호와 축복이 함께하실 것입니다.
여러분,
우리 모두 참된 자유와 평화와 행복이 넘치는 통일의 세계를 건설하는 참된 어머니의 길, 참된 아내의 길, 참된 딸의 길, 그리고 참된 여성 지도자의 길을 갑시다.
If we can do so, God’s Absolute Authority and the divine protection and great blessings of the spirit world will be with us.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Let us all walk the path of the true mother, true wife, true daughter and true woman leader, who can construct a unified world overflowing with true freedom, peace and happiness.
