What is the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?
The Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony represents the culmination and offering of True Father’s entire life course, and the completion stage of True Parents’ Holy Blessed union in the image and likeness of our Heavenly Parent. Therefore it is God’s own substantial wedding ceremony. It is also the ceremony through which True Parents want to renew all Blessed members and families as the direct descendants of the original lineage. It is a ceremony for all Blessed members and families, and all participants should take part in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony prior to Foundation Day.

Who can participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?

Blessed Unification Church couples of all generations and their families, including those who participated in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony on February 17.
Unification Church members of all generations who were Blessed previously, but who are widowed or whose Blessing has been broken.
Ambassadors for Peace, clergy and others who have received the Blessing Ceremony as a previously-married couple and have completed the indemnity stick ceremony, 40-day separation period and three-day ceremony.
Single first-generation Unification Church members who have never been Blessed are not to be participants in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony, but should join the Holy Wine Ceremony and may attend the Foundation Day event as observers.
Other non-Unification contacts cannot participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony, but may attend the event as observers.

All participants in the Foundation Day Blessing should have participated in the Holy Wine Ceremony prior to Foundation Day.

When and where can I participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?
Blessed couples and families are invited by True Mother to participate in the main ceremony in Korea on Friday, February 22 (Korea time). Those who cannot participate in Korea should join an official ceremony organized in each District on Thursday evening, February 21 with a simultaneous Internet webcast of the main ceremony. Local pastors should be contacted for the local schedule.

How do I/we register and prepare for the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?
Study all of the information in this website and complete the registration form at http://foundationday.unification.org/registration/.

What is the dress code for the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?
The dress code for women is a white or light-colored dress and light-colored shoes. A wedding gown can also be worn. The dress code for men is a dark-colored suit, white shirt, red tie and dark-colored shoes. Holy robes are not recommended.

What about my family members who want to participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony, but cannot?
Blessed Family members who wish to participate but are unable to for any reason can be represented by those members of their immediate family who do attend. All Blessed families who can, should share this meaningful blessing together.

What about spouses or Blessed Children who want to participate in the Foundation day Blessing ceremony but live or go to school in another part of the country or overseas?
Spouses or single Blessed Children living separately from their parents or family may be able to participate in the Foundation Day Ceremony nearest where they live, work or go to school. They should be included in their family’s registration process.

What about my family members who don’t want to participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?
True Parents are inviting all Blessed members to participate and receive total grace and renewal based upon Father’s life and foundation. This is a comprehensive, total grace for all mistakes, failures and sins of omission and commission. Participation should include the intention to live in accordance with True Parents’ teaching in the future. There should not be any judgment or rejection of any person based on their past mistakes. their past mistakes, whether they participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony or not.

What if I am struggling in my Blessing? Should I participate?
Blessed couples who are having difficulties in their marriage, but maintain their commitment to the Blessing ideal and to each other, should attend as a family and seek the grace, renewal and spiritual support that they can inherit. Couples that have broken their Blessing previously should also attend as an individual son or daughter of True Parents, maintaining their determination to follow the path of the Principle.

Should Non-Unificationist Ambassadors for Peace, clergy, and contacts participate in the Foundation Day Blessing?

Any non-Unificationists who have been Blessed and completed (or are completing) all five steps of the process to change their lineage (Holy Wine, Blessing, Chastening Ceremony, 40-day Separation and 3-Day Ceremony) should attend.


Other non-Unificationist guests can be invited to attend as observers rather than participants.

Can couples who are newly Blessed in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony also participate in the Foundation Day Ceremony?
Yes, they should attend. In addition to their registration for the Cosmic Blessing, they should register for the Foundation Day Blessing as a couple and participate in the Holy Wine Ceremony prior to the Cosmic Blessing if possible.
