What is Foundation Day Holy Wine?

Long before True Father’s ascension, True Parents prepared the Foundation Day Holy Wine that represents Father’s entire lifetime foundation and victory. True Mother bequeathed this Holy Wine on the 40th day after True Father’s ascension, and it has since been distributed to all regions and nations, and all 50 states.

Every Blessed member and family should receive this Holy Wine prior to participating in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony. This wine represents the grace and forgiveness of God and True Parents toward all Blessed families and all Unification members, and a re-affirmation of our connection to the original lineage through the Blessing. It prepares us for Foundation Day, when we all will stand as True Parents’ lineal descendants, through whom the tradition and heart of Cheon Il Guk will be transmitted to the entire human family.

What is the Special Grace associated with the Foundation Day Holy Wine?

Foundation Day is established as the time when God and True Parents offer their total grace to all Blessed families and members. True Father dedicated his entire life for the salvation of humanity, recreated the original lineage and established the foundation for God’s Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. There is no sin or past mistake which cannot be covered by the grace of God and True Parents. All of us are sinners, by omission or commission and none of us can look with judgment upon another. All Blessed families and members are to receive this special grace through the Foundation Day Holy Wine and participating in the Foundation Day Registration Blessing to renew their determination to live true citizens of Cheon Il Guk.

Who can participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?

  • Blessed Unification Church couples of all generations and their families

  • Non-Unification Blessed Couples and their families

  • Those who plan to be Blessed at the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony on February 17 (Korea time) and later attend the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony on February 22 (Korea time)

  • Unification Church members of all generations who were Blessed previously, but who are widowed or whose Blessing has been broken

  • Single first-generation Unification Church members who have never been Blessed. Even though they drink the Holy Wine, they should not attend the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony as a participant (observer only)

What are the requirements to participate in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony?

All Unification Church members aged 16 years and older are to complete the “Cheon Il Guk Resolution Form for a New Beginning” and submit it in a sealed envelope at the time of their participation in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony. Participants are to be prepared to offer themselves with the standard of pledging absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience before the grace of God and True Parents.

Blessed Children who have married outside of the Unification Church and wish to participate in the grace and renewal of Foundation Day should also complete an “Application Form for Special Grace For 2nd Generation Who Married Outside the Church.” The form is available for download at http://foundationday.unification.org/files/2013/01/Application-Form-for-Special-Grace-For-2nd-Generation-Who-Married-Outside-the-Church.pdf.

When and where will the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony be held?

Official Holy Wine Ceremonies are to be held from February 3 to February 20, 2013 (USA time) in church locations throughout the nation authorized by District Pastors and officiated by pastors and/or leaders also authorized by District Pastors. Participants should contact their local pastor for schedule information.

How do I/we register for the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony?

What is the dress code for the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony?

There is no official dress code but participants should wear clothing that represents their dignity as sons and daughters of God. Recommended attire is a dress for women and suit and tie for men.

Can my family members participate in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony at different times or locations?

Yes. They can participate wherever an authorized ceremony is being conducted. They should be included in their family’s registration process and their participation will be recorded at that location.

What about my family members who want to participate in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony, but cannot?

Blessed Family members who wish to participate but are unable to can be represented through a photo taken by a member of their immediate family who does attend. All Blessed families who can, should share this meaningful blessing together. If practical, Holy Wine can also be taken from the ceremony for the absent family member to drink afterward.

What about my family members who want to participate in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony but live or go to school in another part of the country or overseas?

Family members living separately from their parents or family may be able to participate in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony nearest where they live, work or go to school. Their participation will be recorded where they attend.

How does my spouse who has ascended to the Spirit World participate in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony?

The ascended spouse, or the spouse of a spiritual and physical world Blessing, can participate symbolically by the attending spouse drinking one-half of the cup of Holy Wine and then drinking the other half of the cup on their behalf.

What is the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?

The Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony represents the culmination and offering of True Father’s entire life course, and the completion stage of True Parents’ Holy Blessed union in the image and likeness of our Heavenly Parent. Therefore it is God’s own substantial wedding ceremony. It is also the ceremony through which True Parents want to renew all Blessed members and families as the direct descendants of the original lineage. It is a ceremony for all Blessed members and families, and all participants should take part in the Foundation Day Holy Wine Ceremony prior to Foundation Day.

Who can participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?

  • Blessed Unification Church couples of all generations and their families, including those who participated in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony on February 17

  • Unification Church members of all generations who were Blessed previously, but who are widowed or whose Blessing has been broken

  • Ambassadors for Peace, clergy and others who have received the Blessing Ceremony as a previously-married couple and have completed the indemnity stick ceremony, 40-day separation period and three-day ceremony.

  • Single first-generation Unification Church members who have never been Blessed are not to be participants in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony, but should join the Holy Wine Ceremony and may attend the Foundation Day event as observers

  • Other non-Unification contacts cannot participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony, but may attend the event as observers

All participants in the Foundation Day Blessing should have participated in the Holy Wine Ceremony prior to Foundation Day.

When and where can I participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?

Blessed couples and families are invited by True Mother to participate in the main ceremony in Korea on Friday, February 22 (Korea time). Those who cannot participate in Korea should join an official ceremony organized in each District on Thursday evening, February 21 (USA time) with a simultaneous Internet webcast of the main ceremony. Local pastors should be contacted for the local schedule.

Those who are unable to participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony at the actual date and time will have the opportunity to participate afterward through viewing a recording of the event within a four-week period.

How do I/we register and prepare for the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony?

The dress code for women is a white or light-colored dress and light-colored shoes. A wedding gown can also be worn. The dress code for men is a dark-colored suit, white shirt, red tie and dark-colored shoes. Holy robes are not recommended.

What about my family members who want to participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony, but cannot?

Blessed Family members who wish to participate but are unable to can be represented by those members of their immediate family who do attend. All Blessed families who can, should share this meaningful blessing together.

True Parents are inviting all Blessed members to participate and receive total grace and renewal based upon Father’s life and foundation. This is a comprehensive, total grace for all mistakes, failures and sins of omission and commission. Participation should include the intention to live in accordance with True Parents’ teaching in the future. There should not be any judgment or rejection of any person based on their past mistakes. their past mistakes, whether they participate in the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony or not.

What if I am struggling in my Blessing? Should I participate?

Blessed couples who are having difficulties in their marriage, but maintain their commitment to the Blessing ideal and to each other, should attend as a family and seek the grace, renewal and spiritual support that they can inherit. Couples that have broken their Blessing previously should also attend as an individual son or daughter of True Parents, maintaining their determination to follow the path of the Principle.

Should Non-Unificationist Ambassadors for Peace, clergy, and contacts participate in the Foundation Day Blessing?

Any non-Unificationists who have been Blessed and completed (or are completing) all five steps of the process to change their lineage (Holy Wine, Blessing, Chastening Ceremony, 40-day Separation and 3-Day Ceremony) should attend.

Other non-Unificationist guests can be invited to attend as observers rather than participants.

Can couples who are newly Blessed in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony also participate in the Foundation Day Ceremony?

Yes, they should attend. In addition to their registration for the Cosmic Blessing, they should register for the Foundation Day Blessing as a couple and participate in the Holy Wine Ceremony prior to the Cosmic Blessing if possible.

COSMIC BLESSING CEREMONY

What is the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony?

Prior to the Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony on February 22, which is a renewal ceremony for all Blessed Families, True Parents will officiate a Cosmic Blessing Ceremony for couples being Blessed to each other for the first time. This ceremony will take place at the Cheongshim Peace World Center at CheongPyeong, Korea on Sunday, February 17, and simultaneously via Internet in the United States (Saturday evening, February 16 USA time). There will be a National Cosmic Blessing Ceremony in New Jersey, near New York City, and ceremonies held in each district.

In conjunction with the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony in Korea, True Mother will oversee a Cheon Il Guk Matching Ceremony in Korea for Blessed Children aged 17-30 who meet the qualifications of the “Cheon Il Guk Standard.” Education for matching candidates will take place from February 12-14 at Cheonga Camp in CheongPyeong. The matching will be held at Cheon Jeong Goong, the Original Palace, during this period, and matched couples will participate in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony on February 17. Who can participate in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony?

  • First and second-generation matched couples

  • Candidates matched during the February 12-14 Cheon Il Guk Standard Matching program

  • Previously-married Unificationist couples, including those with one partner in the Spiritual World

  • Previously-married non-Unificationist couples (Ambassadors for Peace, clergy, family members, friends, tribal messiah contacts, etc.)

When and where can I participate in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony?

  • Couples can join the main ceremony in Korea on February 17 (Korea time)

  • Couples can join the National Ceremony in Cedar Grove, NJ, 30 minutes from New York City, with education, entertainment, a lovely dinner and celebration on Saturday evening, February 16 (USA time). Registration is at http://fs6.formsite.com/hsauwc/feb16 usa_cosmicblessing/

  • Couples can participate in a district-sponsored ceremony February 16 (USA time) near where they live. District offices should be contacted for the time and location of their local ceremonies

There are two important processes to complete. One is the process of qualification for the Blessing itself. The other is the process of registering for the Blessing Ceremony event. How can I attend the National USA Cosmic Blessing Ceremony in the New York City area?

Event and registration information can be found at http://fs6.formsite.com/hsauwc/feb16_usa_cosmicblessing/. All participating couples are welcome to join the pre-Blessing banquet. Couples who have offered their full Blessing fees will also be able to receive a number of complimentary banquet tickets for their family and guests. Tickets can be reserved through the registration process. Others can attend by purchasing tickets online.

What if I am attending the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony in Korea?

In addition to registering for the event through the COSMIC BLESSING page of this website, information about travel plans to Korea is required through completing the KOREA TRAVEL form at http://foundationday.unification.org/travel-plan-for-participation-in-foundation-day-february-22-2013/.

Can our couple participate in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony in separate locations?

It is of course best to participate together, but if that is not possible, a couple can participate in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony simultaneously in different locations. Each candidate should have an 8” x 10” photo of their match or spouse.

Should clergy, contacts or Ambassadors for Peace participate in the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony?

Absolutely. Previously-married Non-Unificationist couples should be invited to receive the incredible grace of the Blessing, and join the extended family of True Parents. They need to register for their participation at http://foundationday.unification.org/cosmic-blessing-ceremony/.

Other guests can also be invited to attend as observers (non-participants) of the ceremony.
