True Parents' Words:
All religions that accept God as their Father need to unite to face the communists, who deny God. However, it is with truth and love that we will defeat them. We must help them recognize their errors, and finally we must embrace them as our brothers and sisters. The ideology of Victory over Communism, based on this principle, analyzes all philosophies and ideologies and enables us to unite with God as our center. This principle, ideology and thought arose in Korea. It constitutes Godism.

We will govern the country by consulting with God and centering on God. There will not be a party in power and a party out of power. The time has come when all religious and conscientious people need to unite with our government to defeat communism with Godism, and unite our territory and people. That time is now. Facts:
The first Victory over Communism rally was held in Suwun Hall in Seoul on February 10, 1978. With 134 foreign participants and over a thousand citizen-guests, the rally was successful. Here, Dr. Sang Hun Lee explains the significance of the rally, which was held to make a resolution to protect the Republic of Korea, one of most ardent anti-communist countries in the world. Then president of Korea, Park Chung-hee, and then president of the United States of America, James Carter, sent congratulatory messages.

      On March 8, 2004, at 8AM, True Parents bound the earth and the spiritual world newly and declared the begging of heaven and earth the universe, the earth, the true parents of heaven, earth and human being can settle down.

      This was Historical day which turned the era of before heaven of the fall and the restoration into the era of after heaven of sovereignty of God is the start of the nation of God and the era of peace kingdom.

      The new morning of March 7 was to invite such the era of after heaven, True Father started writing calligraphy for True Mother after finishing HDH. True Father wrote Cheonmojimo Jigyeongjimo (The mother heaven longing for, the mother earth admiring) and emphasized the meaning repeatedly with great joy.

      True Father explained that (the character ‘admiring Gyeong’) meant to respect and attend True Mother just as True Father by using character ‘father bu(父) after ‘Gyeong(敬)’. This sentence means that we long for True Mother as True Mother longs for God and True Father and admire True Mother as we admire True Father.

      The expression ‘for Mom’ was written with the heart of True Father who wanted to love and admire True Mother.

      “Who is ‘for Mom’? Even for me, l love True Mother like my mother who gave birth to me. Then heaven come into existence. Because I couldn’t devote to my mother, I asked True Mother to answer and to act like my mom when I call True Mother ‘mom’ even at night.”

      2004년 3월7일 참아버님께서는 참어머님께 천모지모 지경지모(天慕之母 地敬之母)라는 휘호를 내려주셨다. 이 휘호의 의미는 “하늘이 사모하는 어머니, 땅이 공경하는 어머니”라는 뜻이라고 참아버님께서 말씀해 주셨다. 이날 쓰신 휘호를 액자로 만들어 3월13일(토) 오후에 한남동에 가져왔고 이것을 들고 기념촬영을 하셨다.

      (March 8, 1994, Major universities in America) A one-hundred-city speaking tour in the United States occurred from March 8, 1994 to April 27. In this speaking tour, which had the theme “True Parents and the Completed Testament Age,” True Mother went to ten Ivy League universities, starting from the Harvard University, and some True Children went to other universities to give speeches from March 8, 1994 to April 27. The tour’s theme was “True Parents and the Completed Testament Age.” True Mother emphasized in her speech, “Adam and Eve were supposed to perfect their true love, and as True Parents, they were supposed to form a perfected family characterized by true love and true lineage.”

      Mr. Han was my husband, and Hak Ja Han's father, but things did not go as smoothly as I would have liked. I had a younger brother, but he was studying in Japan and it was not certain whether he would ever come back to his family home, so my parents wanted Mr. Han [Mother's father] to be adopted into my family. But, as he was very independent-minded, he rejected the offer and left me. It was when I was seven months pregnant. He did not come back to me even after the baby was born.

      The first day of the 2nd lunar month according to the Heavenly Calendar marks the Day of the Opening of Heaven, which took place on the solar date February 1, 1985. This year, 2016, 2.1 lunar falls on March 9th solar.

      Dr. Bo Hi Pak's announced this occasion saying: This morning I want to talk about the Day of Opening of Heaven, which Father declared on February 1, just two days ago. Mother and I were at Danbury and Father brought us all small prison towels, and on them he had written "The Day of Opening of Heaven, February 1, 1985, 3:35 a.m." At that moment Father declared in prayer, in heaven and to the world, and then he looked at his watch and wrote down the time. This is probably the final clearing of the way to heaven. Father declared the Day of Victory of Heaven on October 4, 1976, and now Father is declaring the Day of Opening of Heaven. What does it mean? God is now opening up a big highway from heaven to hell, a highway of salvation. Think of it as a highway of truth and light, the opening of a big door that has been closed up in spiritual world.       On February 1, 1985, Reverend Moon declared this day while in Danbury Prison. It signified the connection between the spiritual world and the physical world. "Today is February 1, the day of the Declaration of the opening Heaven. What does this day signify? Literally, it means a day when we open the door of heaven. This day last year, Mother, centered on East Garden, and Father, centered on Danbury, respectively, finally opened the door through which heaven and earth are connected to each other. Thus, good ancestors in the heavenly world come to their descendants on earth through hell. Only those who have been victorious over hell go to heaven. What I did at Danbury centering on February 1, 1985, was an attempt to open the door, since the spiritual world and physical world were blocked from each other. We offered a special prayer in Danbury and East Garden. The door was thus opened. As it was fallen parents who had caused this door to be closed, it is the mission of the Parents who can restore things to open the door. It should be opened, and so we have accomplished that. As the door was opened, the way through which good descendants can witness to their evil ancestors, even though the ancestors might be in hell, was opened. Do you follow me?" [Yes]

      What Is The Meaning Of Opening The Gate Of Heaven?

      1) The Reason to Open the Gate of Heaven Why do we need the Day of the Opening of the Gate of Heaven? God took full responsibility for all the mistakes which Adam and Eve made since the Fall. He has to open the gate under His jurisdiction. He has to open the gate from the individual level, family and tribe. All of those gates have been blocked. The door for races, nations and the world have been blocked. All of those doors have to be opened. By what? By Unification Church families. Reverend Moon has to open them. Do you understand? [Yes.]

      God's strategy is to prepare small steps to achieve victory, from the individual, family, tribe, nation and world and universe and even to the spiritual world. Have they been blocked by heaven and hell? By whom have they been blocked? If Adam and Eve become True Parents, the whole cosmos can be united. But because of false parents, through the Fall, the Kingdom of Heaven and hell have been blocked. Who can break down this historical world of grievous resentment?

      True Parents have to do it. When they do it, they are not doing it from the position of a king or that of an imperial throne. Because mankind lives a suffering life in hell on earth and in the spiritual world, the gate of hell first has to be opened on earth. Then the gate of hell in the spiritual world has to be opened. Through that, the pathway is opened on earth for the individual, the nation and the world. The highway connecting earth to the spiritual world has to be constructed. They have to connect to the mainstream. With the standard of unity between mind and body, we have to go beyond family, tribe, race, nation and world and the spiritual world to break down all the barriers. Everything has to be broken down.

      The worst and last problem is to open the gate of hell and heaven in the spiritual world which has been blocked. We have to go to the depths of hell on earth and open the gate of hell on earth. We have to go to the first gate of hell in the spiritual world and open it. Otherwise, nobody can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only the person who wins over hell can open it. How can you win? Not by a prayer, but by God's love. Unless you can do this, you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. That is the reason why Reverend Moon paved the way from earth to heaven by opening the gate of hell on earth and in the spiritual world centered on God's love. The name of the International Highway came from this. Do you understand? This is to break down the wall which has been blocking us.

      The reason that Jesus became the prince of heaven and had the authority as God's only son was that he was able to love not only the Satanic world but also the spiritual world. The spiritual world has been blocked by boundaries, such as the boundary sphere of the Buddha, the sphere of Confucius, all of the barriers have to be broken down by a higher standard of God's heart than theirs. From the high throne of heaven, all the walls must be broken down from the highest level to the lowest. The barriers of ancestors from tens of thousands of years ago, many thousands of years ago, many hundreds of years ago, and the barriers of ancestors of only many years ago, have to be broken down on earth and pave the way to connect to hell. Otherwise, the opening of the gate of heaven cannot come about. It is complicated. (140-43)

      From March 11 – November 8, 1994, Women's Federation for World Peace held Sisterhood Ceremonies:

      Under the auspices of WFWP, more than 200,000 Korean and Japanese women "came together to create sisterly ties" in thirty-eight separate occasions between March 11 and November 8, 1994.

      Sisterhood ceremonies conducted in the United States between Japanese and American women did not achieve those kinds of numbers, primarily due to the geographical distance between the two nations. However, they may have had more impact due to the involvement of persons with exceedingly high public profiles, most notably, former President and First Lady George and Barbara Bush. Numerous other leaders of the highest rank and celebrities spoke or entertained at WFWP-sponsored sisterhood ceremonies in the U.S. They included former Department of Education Secretary and author of The Book of Virtues, William Bennet; Ambassador Jeanne Kirkpatrick; television personality Barbara Walters; former Congressman Jack Kemp; "Superman" actor Christopher Reeves; Coretta Scott King; well-known psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers; Olympic swimmer Matt Biondi; Mrs. Norman Vincent Peale; Maureen Reagan; singers Shirley Jones, Jennifer Holliday, and Naomi Judd; and actress Phylicia Rashad. Taking part in the ceremonies, many were deeply touched and accepted additional invitations. The most prominent were President and Mrs. George Bush who accompanied and spoke in support of WFWP with Mrs. Moon on a six-city speaking tour in Japan.

  • True Mother’s message during the 50th Anniversary of CARP Held March 12 in 2016

    On March 12, 1975, in Barrytown, New York, True Father spoke to brothers and sisters, including overseas missionary trainees who were to arrive in their mission assignment countries by May 1, 1975. Here is an excerpt from his message, "Those Who Prevail."

    ~~~~~~~ I never thought of escaping from the situation when the government and the established churches opposed our movement; not even when the communists attacked us. Now they have seen that no matter what persecution is launched against me I will not be defeated.

    Are we still suppressed, or is our movement springing up conspicuously? We have already survived all those difficulties, and we are growing. If we have survived all these difficulties in Korea, can we not do the same in other countries? If the people of the world know that we can survive any situation in any country, then there's a way for us to break through until we reach every corner of the earth. We are wrestlers in the arena of life; if we win over our opponents, the majority of the people will follow us: people usually follow the winners. You must realize how miserable the defeated are. Are you going to survive all hardships, or dwindle and die away?

    I'm going to tell you a story from my time in North Korean prisons. I went through much torture. But before I was taken to be tortured I was rather anxious to go through that kind of thing -- to experience it, to know what it really was like. With each strike of the bat, with each jab, I was ready for it; I accepted the challenge. You must study everything. When faced with torture, you must know how to prepare yourself for it. If you are scared the pain will be greater, but if you are prepared to fight against it, you'll feel less pain. When it comes, if you are concentrating on fighting back, then you can survive the torture. In my mind I always thought, "I'm fighting back spiritually," when the physical blasts came. However severely they beat me, it was they who got exhausted, because every moment I was thinking that I could never be defeated by them. My spiritual sword would pierce through their hearts. Therefore rumors spread through the prison that Rev. Moon was such a formidable man that he simply could not be defeated.

    You don't know what prison life is like in North Korea. When I was in Hungnam prison, all the prisoners were supposed to put fertilizer into sacks. When you made rope out of this cloth, which still had the fertilizer on it, your flesh would be eaten away and sometimes your bones would be exposed. There was always blood dripping from your hands. If you were scared by that, you could not survive the situation.

    All during that time I thought, "However hard they may drive me, I will survive the situation at all costs. Come what may, even if you torture me more severely, I can survive." Then I experienced how much greater is the power of spirit than that of the physical body. Instead of coming to my knees before those conditions I found more courage to fight back. All the prisoners, even the jailers and warden, came to respect me. I was cited for being the best worker. So, however bitter and wretched prison life may be, you must know how to make a breakthrough and prevail over the situation.

    The next thing is how to endure extreme heat or cold. It is easier to survive heat. To overcome sleeplessness is a most horrible thing. But I could overcome it. I thought that even though I might have to die there, my spirit would survive the situation, and so I did not die in the real sense. If I could not survive the situation even on the spiritual level, my mission could not be accomplished even by my successors.

    The reason for my telling you about this is that you are going to be faced with many difficulties in the 130 nations you are being sent to. If the whole nation you are assigned to comes against you, you must be prepared to die there, like a seed buried deep in the soil; then a new life will spring up from the seed that was sown. Wherever you go, I'm almost sure that the established churches will come against you. Communists are even more formidable enemies; they are all ready to fight against us. You have been faced with a considerable amount of difficulty here, but you can never imagine what is going to come to you in those unknown lands, especially where communism is rampant.

    You must always be thinking of how to raise a leader from that nation who can succeed you in your mission, in case of difficulties. If you find yourself unable to remain in the country, be wise enough to raise a leader out of that people as soon as possible.

    Don't ever dream of using the people of that land as if they were your servants, just ordering them to do this and that for you. You are to serve them. Don't ever think of being indebted to others. You must use and exercise your own power to do the job.

    Drive yourself into the soil like a seed, endure the difficulties, and break through to grow in that land and its climate. You must be determined not to allow your eyes to be scared by the sight of evil things, and not to let your ears be frightened by what you hear. Don't let your mouth speak weak things, or you will fail. Use your whole being to fight against evil power in that land. You must have strength of character and power of life, as a tree will grow in spite of the pressure of massive rocks -- it will grow sideways or somehow find its way out.

    You must find ways to open the hearts of other people by giving lectures which will move them; you must know how to raise money in that country so you can stand on your own economically; and you must be able to do good public relations work so that you can open up a channel to reach out to all the people there. I want you to become people who can survive any and every situation. When you look at me you can see that I'm tough, strong, and elastic -- like a ball; the harder you throw it, the higher it bounces. For people united with the will of God, difficult situations and rebuffs are only a greater challenge; you can survive and can utilize bad situations as fertilizer, to nourish your tree. Our movement is like a root and a tree coming from Father. You are in that way one with me; you are related to me, you are interested in whatever I'm doing, and you choose to act and think and speak as I do.
