Rev. Hyung Jin Moon Shares Personal Revelation with Ministers in Chicago

On Saturday evening, December 29, 2012 hundreds of Christian pastors and evangelists joined Unificationists at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on Chicago’s west side to honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and to give special tribute to his lifelong work to realize God’s ideal family as the true model for world peace. The 17th True Family Values Banquet, in the year of the passing of True Father, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, had special significance, especially for those who have been touched by True Father’s life and his words.

Since its commencement in 1996, the True Family Awards Banquet in Chicago has been honoring individuals and families for their exemplary faith and service for the betterment of society, and as living testimonies to God’s ideal of “living for the sake of others.”

The keynote speaker for this year was Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, the newly appointed president of the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity – USA.

After a special video tribute to True Father, both Rev Hyung Jin and Rev. Yeon Ah Moon stood together on stage and shared about True Father’s spiritual visit with Rev. Hyung Jin through a dream in early December, during which he was overwhelmed by True Father’s strong message of “Absolute Sex.” After the sharing, Rev. Hyung Jin spoke plainly and bravely in front of hundreds at the gathering of prominent faith leaders, explaining that “Absolute Sex” is the very core of Father Moon’s teaching. He challenged his audience not only to practice, but also to promote, the values in their family and community.

“I can't stop thinking about what he said tonight; I could really hear Jesus speaking through him. It reminded me about the holiness of our bodies…That truly is how the enemy trips us up. Now my eyes are more open to the enemy’s attacks. I attended the forum and paid attention respectfully and took notes, too,” said Prophet Cynthia Carrodine, a member of the Life Center of the Church of God in Christ.

“As we sat through Rev. Hyung Jin Moon's presentation of ‘Good Sex’ and the sharing of intimate moments that he shared with his late Father, we began to be overtaken by a miracle apostolic anointing, as Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, with his lovely queen by his side, electrified us with the points he made concerning proper sexual relations between a husband and a wife. The young Rev. Moon was very insightful with the practical points he shared with all who were in attendance,” commented Apostles William and Shereef Thomas, Founding Visionaries of the Higher Dimension Prophetic Healing, Deliverance, & Restoration International Ministries, Chicago.

Rev. David Kasbow, Unification Church of Michigan State Pastor, said:

“Rev. Oni Faith heard Rev. Hyung Jin's message on the OSDP broadcast on December 15, 2012 and was very inspired by this practical teaching which gave her a strong desire to share it with other pastors. She agreed that it is true that no one else other than Father Moon is teaching about the pure love of God and good healthy sex in marriage. Hearing it again tonight only confirmed her desire to share it.”

For most of Chicago’s Christian pastors and evangelists, it was the first time to hear Rev. Hyung Jin Moon. Many said that the message he conveyed that night was totally unexpected and surprised them greatly. However, people positively received the message and responded with excitement.

After the message, three outstanding Chicago-area ministers who have contributed to promoting family values received True Family Values Award. These included Pastor Nena Bell, assistant pastor, Destiny Church, Hoffman Estates, IL.; Dr. John T. Gray, president, International Ministers and Community Alliance of Chicago;and Mrs. Maria Helena Tonneyck, evangelist for the American Clergy Leadership Conference of Chicago.

The finale song was led by Bishop Connie Bansa of the Church of the Living God, who always regards herself as a spiritual daughter of True Parents.

“The atmosphere was so bright and hopeful; it cleansed my soul and helped me to offer the activities of 2012 to Heaven,” said Mrs. Patricia Fliginger, WFWP Illinois Chairwoman. She added: “I feel truly blessed and grateful for all the sacrifices that made this Banquet a huge success. I saw so much joy on each face – no frowns. Many young people attended and supported the event, too. We are all empowered by Rev. Hyung Jin’s message; True Parents definitely are here with us,” she observed, summarizing the spirit of this year’s Banquet.

The year of 2012 was concluded victoriously in Chicago with the presence of Rev. Hyung Jin and Rev. Yeon Ah Moon centering on True Parents.
