On the 17th day of the 7th month by the Heavenly Calendar in the 1st year of Cheon Il Guk (August 23), the Memorial Gyeongbae Ceremony for the First Anniversary of the Universal Seonghwa of Sun Myung Moon, the True Parent of Heaven, Earth and Humankind was held in the main hall of Cheon Jeong Gung Palace, with about 300 people, including members of the True Family, dignaries from Korea and overseas, organization and business leaders and church elders participating and attending True Mother. The ceremony lasted from 7:00 am until 7:47 am.
he ceremony began with a welcome message from Dr. Chang-shik Yang, Chairman of the Unification Movement in Korea, followed the singing of the Cheon Il Guk Anthem, ceremonial bows, the Family Pledge, representative prayer by Rev. Young-whi Kim, offering of the Holy Cup by True Parents, reading from True Parents' words by Dr. Peter Hyo-yul Kim, and three cheers of og mansei lead by Rev. Katsumi Otsuka. When the formal ceremony was finished, True Mother left, and then, following announcements, the event concluded.
Before beginning the formal ceremony, Dr. Yang explained the meaning and significance of True Father's Seonghwa, and the attitude we should maintain as citizens of Cheon Il Guk.
Ceremonial bows were offered by the families of the True Children, including families of Heung Jin nim and others in the spiritual world, followed by representatives of the five great saints and others in the spiritual world, representative 2nd generation families, representatives of the worldwide Blessed families, representatives from the three central nations in Heavenly Parents' providence, representatives of the six continents (Asia, North America, Europe, South America, Oceania, Africa), representatives from the world's major religions (Judeo-Christianity, Hinduism-Buddhism, Confucianism, Islam), boonbongwangs and national messiahs from the 194 mission countries, representatives from True Parents' clan, and representatives from the world wide Abel and Cain realms.
During his opening prayer, Rev. Young-whi Kim reported, "True Father proclaimed the Divine Principle, through which the fallen world, brought about by the first ancestors of humankind, could be restored to its original natural ideal, and by walking for more than 90 years, the path of a true parent, a true teacher and a true lord, he made it possible for us to be reborn with into a transformed race with true lineage. Also, he gave us the opportunity to take responsibility as tribal messiahs during our lifetime here on this earth, and he taught us how to walk the road to become citizens of Cheon Il Guk through absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience. Furthermore, since True Mother, as the substantial Heavenly Parent, having become one in heart, one in essence and one in harmony is inspiring us and drawing us to follow her, at this first anniversary, we are walking with stronger strides and moving forward without ceasing."
Dr. Peter Hyo-yul Kim reading from the 13 book Cheong Seong Gyeong, shared a section from the 12th book, Cheon Il Guk, Chapter 4 "The Vision and Responsibility of Cheon Il Guk", Section 2, "True Parents who have completed their will" (pages 1363-1365) and from the 13th book, "The Way We Must Go from Now On", Section 10, an excerpt from True Father's prayer given August 13, 2012 (page 1646).
The Memorial Gyeongbae Ceremony for the First Anniversary of the Universal Seonghwa of Sun Myung Moon, the True Parent of Heaven, Earth and Humankind closed with a collective determination as Rev. Katsumi Otsuka, Regional President for Africa, led those attending in three rousing cheers of Og Mansei!.
