The First Anniversary of the Universal Seonghwa of Sun Myung Moon, the True Parent of Heaven, Earth and Humankind Memorial Luncheon was held on Friday, the 17th day of the 7th month by the Heavenly Calendar in the 1st year of Cheon Il Guk (August 23) at 2:00 pm, in the Cheon Jeong Gung Palace main hall, with 850 leaders from around the world attending.
The memorial luncheon commemorating True Father's Seonghwa began with a welcome by Dr. Thomas Walsh, and opening prayer by Rev. Tanya Edward, a presentation of flowers, and welcoming remarks by True Parents' special assistant Dr. Peter Hyo-yul Kim. Following that, offering a special greeting, Korean National Assemblywoman Eul-dong Kim expressed her gratitude for the inspiration she had received from True Parents, and Min-ha Kim, Chairman of the Association of Ambassadors for Peace offered a toast to begin the meal.
At the luncheon, Dr. Chang-shik Yang, Chairman of the Unification Movement in Korea and Vice Chairman Nan-young Moon presented the White Papers on the Universal Seongwha Ceremony and Foundation Day to True Parents.
Bong-ho Kim, former Vice Chairman, Korean National Assembly, H. E. Domitien Ndayizeye, former President of Burundi and Sri Rupa, Director of the Indian Commission on Women offered memorial addresses to True Parents.
Entertainment was offered by La Strada (Mi-ran Kim and 4 other singers), who presented Hangyereong and another song.
Representing the True Family, Sun Jin nim Moon offered her greeting of gratitude, saying, "The purpose of True Father's life for the whole 93 years of his life was working for world peace. It is a very hopeful thing that all of you have gathered here today to celebrate True Father. This is not a time for sorrow. True Father gave us the example of how we must all live our lives. Let us all join with True Mother in becoming the people who can accomplish True Father's goals."
Rev. Jeong-no Yoon, President of UPF Korea led three cheers of Og Mansei! to finish the event.
The white papers that were presented were the White Paper on the Universal Seonghwa of Sun Myung Moon, the True Parent of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, with grand title "The Reign of Peace of the Victorious King, the Emperor of Truth, Holiness and Virtue of Heaven, Earth and Humankind," describing all the events from Father's Seonghwa one year ago until the commemorative service on the 40th day, and the White Paper on Cheon Il GukFoundation Day, "Receiving the Glory of a New Heaven and New Earth," which described all of the activities related to Foundation Day.
