ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE MOTTO OF 2014,
May our Heavenly Parent and the True Parents of
Heaven, Earth and Humankind’s blessings and love be with all
regions, mission nations and providential organizations.
This is to announce the motto that we should
uphold until 2020, which was given to us by the True Parents of
Heaven, Earth and Humankind during hoondokhae at Cheon Jeong Gung
on 12.1 by the Heavenly Calendar in the first year of Cheon Il Guk
(January 1, 2014).

True Mother emphasized that the speech she
delivered at the World Leaders Advancement Rally in 2013, the
First Year of Cheon Il Guk, which was held on 11.13 by the
Heavenly Calendar in the first year of Cheon Il Guk (December 15,
2013) at the Cheongshim Peace World Center, clarifies the goal and
direction all members of the unification family should take until
2020. She reiterated that we should uphold the motto in the
context of this goal and direction.

Oon Kim, the first Unification Church missionary in the United
States, at Masonic Avenue, San Francisco.
Arrival of the First Unification Church Missionary
in United States, Miss Young Oon Kim was the first Unification
Church missionary to the United States. She arrived in the midst
of a raging snowstorm on January 4, 1959. She came as a student to
the University of Oregon in Eugene but left school to live in a
vacant house in Oakhill, a semi-rural settlement several miles
east of Eugene to be near her three best contacts – Doris
Walder Anteloch (later Orme), Pauline Phillips Sherman (later
Verheyen) and Patty Pumphrey. Later joined by Galen Pumphrey and
George Norton, the Oakhill group migrated several hundred miles
down the coast to San Francisco in late 1960. There, they put
energy into improving the Principle text, obtaining legal
incorporation, purchasing a three-story building as a training
center, and direct person-to-person witnessing. In July 1962, they
opened up mission territory in surrounding Bay Area communities.
By the end of that year, the group had expanded to
Los Angeles and Sacramento and grown to more than fifty members.

The proclamation of the first God's Day 1968
opens with these words:
"With the ringing of the
watch-night bell on midnight of New Year's Eve, True Father sent
his blessing to the members of the Unified Family throughout the
world."
We pray that True Parents' guidance can motivate
us all towards revival along the very points reviewed in the early
hours of January 1, 1968:
"From midnight to 3:00 a.m. [on January 1,
1968], our Leader discussed the main points in the life and
activities of 1967.
1. Unity and harmony should prevail among
members, regardless of their position.
2. Members should rearm
themselves with the Principle, not only intellectually but in
heart and character as well.
3. We should deliberately
establish conditions of indemnity for personal, family, and
national restoration.
4. In speaking of duties, our Leader said
that each must actively witness for three years, find three pairs
of children, and raise them through to the blessing.
5. Our
responsibility toward the Christian churches includes maintaining
interdenominational study groups, conducting revivals and training
sessions, and welcoming new members.
6. We should reach
students by holding study meetings and teaching them to
lecture.
7. We should reinforce our anti-Communist work. and
make wider contacts with government officials related to it. We
should teach the general public with a strong organization for
training.
8. Each of our churches and families should seek
means of self-support.
9. Regarding the educational program for
families and churches: Expand your understanding and capacity in
order to maintain your usefulness as the movement expands.
